Timed Missions in Save the World

Timed missions in Fortnite Save the World are extra opportunities that appear while you play. Completing these missions grants a special loot drop — different from the standard one — and each reward is claimable only once per mission.

Possible rewards include:

• Evolution Materials
• XP
• Schematics
• Heroes
• Defenders
• Survivors
• PERK Items
• V-Bucks (only in certain missions)

Missions refresh every 24 hours. Only Mini-Boss missions (also called Mission Alerts) grant V-Bucks. To find them, look for the mini-boss indicators at the top of the missions list.

Mini-Boss Mission Rewards

V-Bucks earned through mini-boss missions are popular, but limited:

• Reward range: 25–40 V-Bucks per run
• Missions rotate daily (every 24h)
• Can’t repeat the same mission for additional rewards

Other mission types like Storm Missions might only give evolution materials, or elemental perk items depending on the mission type.

Epic Games also introduces timed variants during seasonal events, keeping rewards fresh and engaging.

How to Access More Missions

Each time you progress through the main questline, new regions and timed missions unlock. Progress looks like this:

• Start in Stonewood
• Complete 34 quests to unlock Plankerton
• Finish Plankerton to reach Canny Valley
• Advance further to enter Twine Peaks

At the top of the page, you can always find the latest Mini-Boss Mission Alerts and their rewards — synced every 15 minutes from the Save the World servers.

Because these missions give free V-Bucks, players often rush to complete them as soon as they appear, regardless of difficulty or location.

Here’s a quick timeline of how Mini-Boss Mission Alerts evolved:

• Patch v2.3: Increased alerts beyond Stonewood to 6, all with Mini-Boss encounters
• Patch v3.4: Rebalanced loot to prioritize Transform Keys and rarer items, removing basic craft materials
• Patch v3.5: Restricted Mini-Boss access in Stonewood and Plankerton unless joining higher-tier parties
• Patch v4.2: Added bonus resources to loot pool and doubled alerts during events
• Patch v9.00: Removed the 3-alert daily limit and switched rotation to daily (from 6-hour)
